My name is Jenifer Wendy Chan, LMFT, and I go by Wendy.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving teens, adults, couples, and older adults throughout California, with in-person sessions available in Burlingame and San Francisco
I work with people who may appear steady and capable on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, frustrated, or stuck in patterns they’re tired of repeating.
I welcome clients from many backgrounds and identities, including clients who are queer allied, trans allied, non-binary allied, intersex allied, and single parents. I also work with many Asian and Pacific Islander clients and speak Filipino/Tagalog.
My hope is to offer a space that feels warm, grounded, and open. A place where you can slow down, feel supported, and begin looking honestly at what you are carrying.
About Wendy
My approach to therapy
I believe healing begins with feeling safe enough to be real.
One of the most important parts of therapy is the therapeutic relationship itself. Feeling heard, understood, and supported can be part of what helps change begin. I value presence, compassion, trust, and connection in my work, and I aim to create a space where you do not have to hide behind a mask or explain everything perfectly in order to be met with care.
I see my role as a trusted guide and advocate who can help you better understand what is happening, get unstuck, and move toward healing in a way that feels meaningful and true.
Professional Details
My work is depth-oriented, integrative, and trauma-informed.
I am trained in EMDR and Brainspotting, and my broader clinical orientation is rooted in transpersonal psychology. This means I work with the emotional, psychological, spiritual, and creative aspects of the self as part of the healing process.
My therapeutic approach may draw from attachment-based, psychodynamic, person-centered, trauma-focused, CBT, DBT, and culturally sensitive care, depending on your needs.
I am also a California certified sexual assault counselor and have additional training in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy and Research through the California Institute of Integral Studies.

Request A Consultation
Reaching out for support can feel vulnerable. My hope is to make that first step feel as clear and comfortable as possible.
If you would like to schedule a consultation or ask a question about working together, you’re welcome to reach out by phone, email, or through the contact form.
What to expect
I offer a free 15-minute consultation by phone or video for new clients.
This is a chance for you to briefly share what’s bringing you in, ask any questions you may have, and get a sense of whether working together feels like the right fit.
I know how difficult it can be to reach out and not hear back. Because of that, I make it a priority to respond with care and clarity.
